TWO DAYS FROM DJERBA TO KSAR GHILANE: IMMERSION IN SOUTHERN TUNISIA
Two days to disconnect in the heart of the Tunisian Sahara.
Swim in the natural hot spring, ride a quad or camel through the ochre dunes, enjoy dinner by the fire and sleep under the stars in your private tent in the Grand Erg Oriental.
This journey from Djerba also takes you through Berber villages, ksour in the Tataouine region, the troglodyte homes of Matmata, and the breathtaking landscapes of southern Tunisia.

DAY 1: FROM THE DAHAR TO THE DUNES OF KSAR GHILANE
Pick-up from your accommodation in Djerba
We will pick you up in front of your place of stay in Djerba at 7:30 a.m.
You will take the legendary Roman road which connects the island to the continent.
Then you will cross olive groves, surrounded by fascinating semi-desert landscapes.
Flexible photo stops are planned to immortalize these exceptional panoramas.
Photo stop at the salt lake Sebkhet el Melah
First stop at Sebkhet el Melah or Zarzis Lake, a salt lake renowned for its changing hues, a treat for photography enthusiasts.
Visit Tataouine and Ksar Ouled Soltane

Passage through the Tataouine market (according to opening hours).

Exploring Ksar Ouled Soltane, a famous Star Wars setting, used as a slave quarter on Tatooine in The Phantom Menace.
Lunch at Guermassa or Ksar Hadada, then visit of Chenini

Lunch at a local restaurant at Guermassa or at Ksar Hadada.

Guided tour of Chenini, where the stone houses blend into the mountain.
Departure to Ksar Ghilane oasis by 4x4
Entering the desert marks the beginning of the adventure in Ksar Ghilane.
ACTIVITIES AND FREE TIME AT KSAR GHILANE

Camel ride in the desert: €15/hour.

Quad tour to the ancient Roman fort of Tisavar: €30/hour.

Swim in the natural hot spring which gushes out at 32°c.
These optional activities will be payable to local service providers without reservation.

DAY 2: FROM KSAR GHILANE TO MATMATA

Start the day with breakfast in the great outdoors, followed by free time to explore the dunes.
Discovery of troglodyte homes in Matmata
Visit to the Berber village of Tamezret
Drive to Matmata, famous for its troglodyte houses, used as a setting for Luke Skywalker's house in Star Wars.
Lunch at a local's home in Tamezret, where you will discover warm Berber hospitality.
Return to Djerba in the afternoon
After these two days of adventures and discoveries, return to Djerba at the end of the afternoon, where you will be dropped off in front of your place of stay.
