MATMATA AND KSAR GHILANE TOUR DEPARTURE FROM GABÈS 

Ksar Ghilane: This oasis is located in southern Tunisia and is considered one of the gateways to the Tunisian Sahara desert.

It is fed by a hot spring from a failed oil drilling in 1953.
The water from this spring, at a temperature of around 32 degrees, is rich in sulfur and is reputed to have thermal properties.

You will have the opportunity to bathe in this natural spring and enjoy its benefits.
Ksar Ghilane is also home to a community of nomads who live from the exploitation of the date palm and the breeding of goats and sheep.

You will be able to discover their way of life and learn more about their traditions.
 

Camel or quad ride:
In Ksar Ghilane, you will have the option of taking a camel ride or enjoying a quad excursion in the surroundings.

These activities will allow you to discover the desert landscapes of the region in a unique and fun way.
 

PROGRAM

• Departure at 6:30 am in 4x4 from your place of stay in Gabès towards Matmata.

• Visit of the troglodyte houses of Matmata.

• Then drive to Ksar Ghilane, an oasis surrounded by huge ocher sand dunes (Erg Oriental). 

• Lunch in a restaurant at the foot of the dunes.

• Optional, possibility of camel ride €15/h or quad to the Roman fort of TIsavar, €30/h.

• Bathing in the hot spring. (Optional)

• Return to your place of stay in Gabès
