CAMEL RIDE IN THE DOUZ DESERT FROM ZARZIS
Embark on a camel ride in Douz, deep in the Tunisian desert. Enjoy a two-hour journey through golden dunes at the gentle pace of your camel.
A traditional nomadic lunch will be prepared by your guide: Tunisian salad, grilled meats, and bread baked in the sand. A true Bedouin experience!
Round-trip 4x4 transfer from Zarzis, with a photo stop in Médenine and expert guides to ensure a smooth adventure.
We also offer this camel trek over two days, with all meals and a night in a bivouac in a tent in the desert.
PROGRAM OF THE ONE DAY CAMEL RIDE IN THE DESERT

Pick up in front of your accommodation in Zarzis, early in the morning at 6 am, then drive to Douz.

Coffee break and photos in Medenine.

Arrival in Douz around 10 a.m. Your camel guides and their dromedaries will be ready.

Departure for the two-hour camel trek.

The camel driver will prepare lunch for you in the desert: Tunisian salad, grilled meats, bread cooked in the sand.

Return to Douz in the middle of the afternoon.

Departure for return to Zarzis in 4X4 and drop off in front of your place of stay or at the airport.

Douz
Located 250 km from Zarzis, Douz, a famous oasis known forits palm grove but above all to be the Gateway to the Sahara.
In antiquity it was the most important oasis in the region.
Its inhabitants are essentially Mrazig who would be,Arab immigrants who arrived in Tunisia in the 13th century.
Recently, Douz was still an important stopover for
caravans during their journeys between the Algerian Sahara and Tunisia.
The Mrazigues, inhabitants of Douz, remain very attached to their Sahara.
Sand rules most of the streets in Douz.
In these dunes is there, their history and the memory of their ancestors.

Douz is changing the city comes alive, folk dances, craft fair, poetry contest, entertainment on every street corner.

The best time to go there is between October and March, the weather is very nice but much less hot!
