Star Wars Tour from Zarzis
Star Wars fans, this excursion is for you!
From Zarzis, we offer you a whole day dedicated to the main filming sites of the world famous saga.
We will leave your place of stay in Zarzis at 7:30 am to take you to the universe of the planet Tatooine.
The trip begins with a stopover in Medenine where you can observe the ksar, used as a setting for certain scenes of the film "The Phantom Menace".
We will then head for Matmata, known for its troglodyte houses.
You will have the opportunity to visit the Sidi Idriss hotel, which served as the setting for the Lars farm in the saga.
The Ksar Hadada, which was transformed into the slave quarters of Mos Espa for "The Phantom Menace", is also on the program.
After a convivial lunch in a restaurant in Guermassa, we will continue our immersion in the world of Star Wars with a guided tour of the village of Chenini. You will have the opportunity to discover the landscapes that served as the backdrop for certain scenes of the saga.
To conclude our adventure, we will show you the ksar Ouled Soltane, which appears as one of the slave quarters of Tatooine in "The Phantom Menace".

In the Footsteps of Star Wars: Tataouine and the Ksour
George Lucas was heavily inspired by Tataouine and the surrounding ksour for his Star Wars films. The city itself even gave its name to the desert planet of the saga: Tatooine.
It is interesting to note that Tataouine was not used as a filming location for the first trilogy and was little used for the 2000s trilogy. The films were shot in various locations in southern Tunisia, particularly around Tozeur (which is the subject of a 4-day circuit), around Tataouine, and even on the island of Djerba in Ajim and Sidi Jmour.
The ksour of Médenine and Ouled Soltane offer authentic settings for the Star Wars universe. The Ksar Medenine, located in town, has, like the Ksar Hadada, served as a backdrop for the slave quarters of Mos Espa.
Two notable scenes were filmed there: the arrival at Anakin Skywalker's house during the storm and the departure of Anakin with Qui-Gon, during his farewell to Shmi.
The Ksar Ouled Soltane, this fortified Berber village, was transformed by Georges Lucas into a slave quarter of Tatooine. It is one of the best preserved in the country and is still little visited by tourists.
The Ksar Hadada also served as the setting for the slave quarters. This is where the scene was filmed where Qui-Gon Jinn contacts Obi-Wan to ask him to analyze the level of midichlorians in the blood taken from Anakin.
It is also here that the scene was shot where Shmi talks about his son, admitting that he has no father. These immersive locations are an integral part of the Star Wars universe and offer an authentic dive into the saga.

Start with a visit to Ksar Medenine, the setting used in Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace. Get into the vibe of Tatooine as you explore this iconic location.
