NEW YEAR'S EVE IN THE DESERT
Departure from Zarzis - 3 day tour
Day 1, December 30:
The first day of your trip starts in Zarzis and you head towards Douz.
Along the way, you will make a stop to visit Matmata, famous for its troglodyte houses.
After this visit, you will continue to Douz where you will have lunch in a restaurant.
After lunch, you will leave in 4x4 by taking the tracks and the dunes in the direction of the Tembaine mountain.
This is where the southernmost camp in the desert is located. You will settle in your private tent and you will have free time to enjoy the place.
Dinner will be served at the camp and you will spend the night in your private tent.
Day 2, December 31:
On the second day, you will leave Tembaine and take the track towards the oasis of Ksar Ghilane.
You will have lunch in a restaurant located at the foot of the dunes in Ksar Ghilane.
After lunch, you will have the opportunity to visit the oasis and bathe in the 32 degree hot spring (optional).
If you wish, you can also opt for a quad or camel ride.
Fees for these optional activities will be payable locally.
Then, you will leave in 4x4 towards the comfortable Saharan camp, located about 20 km away.
You can watch the sunset, participate in the ceremony of baking bread in the sand, then you will have dinner at the Saharan restaurant.
Then you will participate in the New Year's Eve party which will be festive, with a special dinner and entertainment for the occasion.
In the evening, you can enjoy an aperitif in the open bar around the wood fire, with Tunisian drinks, soft drinks and appetizers. Animations will be planned, in particular a folk group and a fantasia of dromedaries.
Dinner will be served in the dining room with additional entertainment, including a folk band and a DJ to set the mood.
The meal will include a variety of dishes, such as appetizers (kemia), seafood soup, salad plates, lamb jug, seasonal fruit salad, Tunisian pastries and tea. Mint.
You will also have access to unlimited red, rosé or white wines, water and sodas.
At midnight, a traditional glass of champagne will be served to celebrate the New Year.
You will spend the night in your private tent, continuing to enjoy the desert atmosphere.
Day 3, January 1:
After breakfast and a moment of relaxation in the desert, you will prepare to leave for Chenini.
You will take the track and you will visit the Ksar Ouled Soltane, an old fortified citadel.
Then you will go to Guermassa where you will have lunch.
After lunch, you will have the opportunity to visit the Ksar El Ferech, another historical site in the region.
Then you will return to Zarzis, to your place of stay.
