Embark on a 7-day camel trek for a unique desert experience.
Walk through the vast dunes of the Grand Erg Oriental, sleep under the stars, and explore the hidden oasis of Houidath Erreched.
Immersion in nomadic life & Houidath Erreched lake
For 7 days , immerse yourself in the vastness of the Tunisian desert and follow the rhythm of the nomads and their dromedaries.
The journey begins with a 4x4 transfer from Zarzis to Douz , before reaching Tembaine mountain by all-terrain vehicle.
This is where the adventure begins, accompanied by a team of experienced camel drivers.
The trek takes you through endless dunes , rocky plateaus and constantly changing landscapes , punctuated by picnic breaks and nights bivouacking under a starry sky.
On the fourth day , you reach Lake Houidath Erreched , a natural oasis surrounded by high dunes.
You enjoy a bath in the thermal spring , before continuing the adventure towards Tembaine.
After a final night in bivouac , you end this adventure with a return to Douz , then a transfer to Zarzis or Djerba airport.
This trek offers much more than a simple hike: it is a real immersion in nomadic life and a unique moment in the heart of nature.
Daily stages will vary from 10 to 15 km and last from 3 to 6 hours of walking , with lunch breaks along the way.
The evenings will be spent around the campfire , offering a friendly moment of exchange and sharing .
The camels will be loaded and unloaded twice a day for the camp.
The nights will be spent under the stars in the desert .
